The client approached us with a unique requirement : to create a twin house from within and one bungalow from the outside. Situated in an upmarket residential area, the plot enjoys a prime location adjacent to a community garden, enhancing the property’s appeal and providing a serene outdoor space for relaxation and recreation.
Designing a bungalow for two brothers, each with equal and identical spaces, posed a distinctive challenge. The interior layout was meticulously structured to accommodate four bedrooms for each wing, a large common lobby, dedicated large living rooms, dining areas, and mandir. This arrangement transformed the property into a total bungalow with two kitchens, two living areas, and a grand total of eight bedrooms, ensuring ample space and comfort for both brothers and their families.
Despite this internal division, the exterior facade of the bungalow maintains the appearance of a single, expansive residence, seamlessly blending into the upscale surroundings of the posh neighborhood.
To achieve this harmonious balance of unity and distinction, the exterior of the bungalow was adorned with a combination of wood finish planks, glass elements, and textured surfaces. The warm tones of the wood finish evoke natural elegance, while strategic glass accents infuse a modern touch and allow ample natural light to illuminate the interior spaces.
Texture played a pivotal role in enhancing the visual appeal of the bungalow’s facade, adding depth and interest. Carefully selected materials and finishes, such as textured stone cladding and patterned brickwork, imbue the exterior with sophistication and character.
